Firstly the sensor is the lauded PixArt PMW3360. The Rival 500 is well equipped in both these categories. With any gaming rodent the two most important elements are the type of sensor and how many buttons it has. So if you're in the market for a multi-button mouse, but have grown tired of the "key pad on the side" style, then maybe the Rival 500 can be just what you're after. It still has the RGB lighting, it still has a beastly 16000 CPI sensor, and it still has the 'much more useful than it sounds' vibration feedback. Something that today's review, the Rival 500, rectifies. Indeed about the only thing it was lacking was lots of buttons for the MMO/MOBA crowd. With superb lighting, swappable components, an OLED display and vibration feedback, it moved the gaming mouse goalposts considerably further on.
